Belmond La Samanna, St Martin
Synonymous with beauty
St. Martin is synonymous with beauty, an easygoing lifestyle and, above all, lovely beaches and turquoise seas. The redesign of Belmond La Samanna is a celebration of the Caribbean, drawing on the natural colour palette of the sea and its sea life to create a romantic and blissfully relaxing experience. Careful to evoke a feeling that this is more residence than hotel, accessories and artwork play a central role, with paintings by local artist, conservationist and archivist, Sir Roland Richardson, that eloquently depict the island’s natural flora and local inhabitants.
The palette is soft—pink hues of the early evening sky and shifting turquoise and teal of the sea combined with vivacious pops of coral—materials and fabrics are tactile and the design is styled and accessorised to offer layer-on-layer of features to intrigue, engage and make you smile. The suites and villas, while grander in tone, share the fresh and natural aesthetic of the guest rooms.
